About
After graduating from Chinese Medical school in 2012, I started Blue River Herbs. My jouney into software development began in 2015 when a friend recruited me to design and build the front end for a startup. I jumped right into front-end development and haven't looked back. Within 2 years, I moved into full stack development and have been expanding my knowledge and skills building real-world applications ever since.

I've worked on a variety of projects, from simple websites to complex web applications. Here are a few of my favorites.
Eden's Almanac
Research shows the cosmos has a profound influence on plant growth and yield. I decided to build an application that helps gardeners and farmers take advantage of the ever-changing dynamic in the heavens.
HyveTech
Designed, developed and marketed a comprehensive CRM for the legal cannabis industry with multiple connected applications including: an online ordering app, cash register app, weigh station app, driver app, inventory audit app and check-in app, all connected to a central backoffice.

If I'm not developing software, I'm probably doing one of the following things.

Acupuncture, Moxibustion & Herbology
As an undergraduate, I pursued a pre-med curriculum because I wanted to help people. Before embarking upon the allopathic path, I observed enough failures of western medicine to seek out traditional medical systems. This quest led me to Ayurveda and then Chinese Medicine which both rely on herbal medicine to restore health and strengthen the body. I studied Acupuncture at Five Branches but supplemented my education by studing directly under Dr. Wei Chieh Young, the leading disciple of the world-renowned Master Tung. I learned the art of direct moxa from the Korean master Dr. Nam Soo Kim who lived an active life until the ripe old age of 105. - H
Homesteading
I bought my first chicks (cuckoo maran's) in 2013 and have kept a flock ever since. Eating eggs daily has been associated with a reduced risk of dementia, not to mention a large percentage of centenarians report decades of starting their day with eggs. source - H
Homeschooling
The geniuses who shaped our modern world were all homeschooled and mostly self-taught. Being a self-starter with an unquenchable curiosity, I strongly believe that homeschooling fosters thinking and provides the student with the opportunity to grow in a way that public school cannot. - H
Hiking
I was blessed to live near the California redwoods and spent much time exploring the endless nature that land had to offer. Now, I'm always looking for new trails and the accompanying wonderment only found in wild, uninhabited areas. - J
Jurisprudence
I enjoy researching law and history as it relates to the present state of society. Delving into statutes, regulations and legislative histories has made me a better researcher, shaped the way I think and has enhanced my writing and communication skills. - M
Music
A friend made me a beautiful bansuri from bamboo I harvested while visiting Hawaii in 2008. I don't find a lot of time to cultivate my musical side these days, but I do enjoy playing the flute on occasion.
